Assurance Cell (IQAC) plays a pivotal role in several areas of operations
including governance reforms, ICT integration in the functioning of the
college, infrastructure augmentation, and student capacity-building
initiatives. YSM's commitment to environmental sustainability is evident
through green initiatives, including solar power panels and annual plantation
drives. The IQAC actively contributes to enhancing the teaching-learning
aspects, focusing on academic calendar preparation, faculty development, ICT
tools, and educational tours. The institution integrates life skills,
sports, cultural events, and programs, emphasizing holistic development.

Gyanodaya Lecture Series
The Gyanodaya is an initiative
aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of faculty members through
structured development programs. These programs are designed to keep educators
updated with the latest advancements for knowledge enhancement, professional
growth, networking, skill development in their fields, improve their teaching
methodologies, and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional
growth. We conduct series of workshops, lectures, panel discussions,
hands-on-learning exercises for teaching and non-teaching fraternity of our
Mahavidyalaya. By providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge, it
helps in elevating the quality of education and fostering an environment of
excellence in academia.

A
Ceremony of Inclusion through Motorbike Facilitation: On March 18, 2024, a
heartwarming ceremony took place at the CVS Boardroom, dedicated to empowering
our students Joseph Ekka, Pratima Kumari, and Akash.
During
the ceremony the Jharkhand IAS Officers’ Wives Association (JIASOWA) gifted
keys of adapted motorbikes to these specially-abled students. This kind gesture
not only provided them with a means of mobility but also bestowed upon them a
sense of independence and empowerment, fostering a more inclusive society for
all.
Before
the commencement of the ceremony, a meditation session took place in the Dhyan
Mandir. The session was attended by esteemed members of the Jharkhand IAS
Officers’ Wives Association (JIASOWA), the Secretary GB Sri Avijit Ghosh, the
Principal Dr. Shyam Pandey, and various teaching and non-teaching staff
members.
During
the facilitation ceremony, the presence of Mrs. Gurmeen
Singh, the President of JIASOWA, Mrs. Manu Jha, Secretary of JIASOWA, and Dr.
(Mrs.) Jersina, a Senior Executive Member, alongside
Mrs. Amitha Ranjan, Dr. (Mrs.) Dhivya, and Mrs.
Archana, lent an aura of encouragement and solidarity to the occasion.
The
presence of the parents of the special children also added a profound layer of
emotion to the ceremony. Their words of gratitude towards JIASOWA and the
college underscored the invaluable impact of such initiatives on the lives of
their children.
The
initiative was coordinated by IQAC and the dedicated Special Student
Facilitator, Mr. Som Prakash. Special thanks are extended to Sri Pankaj Gurung
for his invaluable support in liaising with the District Transportation office
and the automobile agency (4S Automobiles).

Gyanodaya Lecture Series
1.
Five Day
online FDP on "NEP: 2020 Curricular Reforms and Skill development "- 27th June,2022- 2nd July,2022
To sensitize the teachers with various aspects of
National Education Policy ,2020 a Five-Day online FDP (an initiative of the
Team IQAC) on "NEP: 2020 Curricular Reforms and Skill development "
is being organized for the faculty members of the Mahavidyalaya.
A total of 28 faculty members across departments are
participating in this online FDP (27th June,2022- 2nd July,2022) being
conducted by the Dept. of Curriculum Development and Assessment Education
(DCDAE), National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research,
Bhopal.
The Five Day FDP commenced today on 27th June,2022. Dr.
Anju Rawlley, Prof and Head, DCDAE (also coordinator of the 5 Day FDP) in her
address gave the faculty participants an overview of the 5 Day FDP.
She highlighted that in the context of changed scenario,
curriculum, pedagogy and assessment need to be reviewed and revamped. She
emphasized that there is an urgent need to focus on skills development at
different levels. Dr. Rawlley also acknowledged the persistent efforts made by
Dr. Shyam Pandey, Principal, YSM for making this happen. This is the first FDP
under the TLC project organized by NITTTR for a non-technical institute.

6 -Day Workshop on
NAAC Assessment and Accreditation from 24th Nov- 30th Nov
2022.
The IQAC Team organized a quality workshop
for the members of the teaching and non- teaching staff of Mahavidyalaya. The
workshop commenced on 24 th November 2022 till 30th Nov
2022.
To make quality a defining element of all the
academic as well as administrative aspects, the workshop was planned criterion-wise so that
criterion-specific quality initiatives/action plans could be drawn and the challenges in executing them
so far could also be addressed. The
purpose of the workshop was also to apprise the new members of the YSM family
(who joined the institution in the present
academic year) about NAAC and the requirements of the 7 criteria and to get
valuable insights from our experienced senior family members who were actively
involved in the first cycle of accreditation.



3. One day online workshop on
"Managing Research and Academic Ethics" for all the faculty members
of the Mahavidyalaya on January 16, 2023.
To create awareness about responsible conduct of
research, thesis, dissertation and the promotion of Academic Integrity the Research
Advisory Committee (RAC) of YSM along with members of Team IQAC (Research,
Innovation and Extension Criteria) organized a one-day online workshop on
"Managing Research and Academic Ethics" for all the faculty members
of the Mahavidyalaya on January 16, 2023.
The
resource person for the session was Dr. Sumanta Dutta, who has an experience of
over two decades in teaching and research. He is also a recipient of Dr. Sarvepalli
Radhakrishnan Education Excellence Award 2022 and many others accolades for his
outstanding contributions in the field of Research. Dr. Dutta is
presently associated with the Post Graduate and Research Department of Commerce
at St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata and has been a resource person for more than
40 workshops organized by various research bodies across India. Dr. Dutta
introduced the participants of the workshop to know why do we need to
constantly conduct research and how to find and explore academic research
papers using visual tools, publication ethics, etc. The various other aspects
covered in his presentation were reviewing the literature, managing authorship
issues, data fabrication and falsification, multiple submission, redundant publications,
predatory publication, plagiarism and it's levels and also ways in which a
researcher can avoid plagiarism, journal selection and impact status of the
journal.
Research ethics in social science is important not only
when conducting research but also at the time of publishing it. It is one of
the crucial pillars for maintaining scientific integrity and credibility, said
Dr. Dutta. The interactive session was followed by a Q & A session in which
the faculty members also got their queries pertaining to same resolved.

As a part of the Gyanodaya initiative, an initiative that aims
at equipping the faculty with the knowledge that is essential for inculcating
core and professional skills, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of YSM
organized an interactive session on "Role of Academic Leader in times of
NEP and the burgeoning culture of Edupreneurship: Transforming Self and Others
on 25th February 2023. The resource persons for the aforesaid session were Mr.
Chaitanya, Co-founder and Executive Director of a preeminent EdTech Company,
Emeritus, having an experience in Executive Education of almost two decades and
Mr. Vivek Atray, retired officer, Indian
Administrative Service(IAS),also a celebrated TedX
speaker. The session began with the offering of the invocation by Swami
Suddhanandagiriji, Chairman, GB, YSEI. This was followed by a brief
introduction of the Gyanodaya initiative and the resource persons, by Brig. Dr.
Anil Sharma, Secretary, GB, who is also the curator of the Gyanodaya
initiative. Mr. Chaitanya highlighted the importance of reskilling and
upskilling to stay relevant and contemporary. He also spoke at length as to how
by leveraging and embracing technology we can reap the benefits of Demographic
Dividend. In the 21st century, we all need to be lifelong learners, he said.
Mr. Vivek Atray also a member of the Education Expert Committee, YSEIs, in his
address focussed on the human element. We are all evolving, learning from
experiences and there is always a scope for improvement, he said. Through his
illustrative examples, he kept the members of the audience captivated and
beautifully highlighted that how important it is to be flexible and adaptable.
Post his address, Swami Sudhhanandagiriji appreciated
the efforts of the college to organize such programs. He reiterated the mantras
of a balanced life and like always, showered his blessings on all and showed
the path of true living.


5. A workshop on "Balancing
the Classroom: Strategies for Supporting Slow Learners and
Challenging
Fast Learners" was successfully organized by the Internal Quality
Assurance
Cell(IQAC) on
April 29, 2023.
The
event was specifically organized for the Faculty of Arts, to equip the faculty
with innovative strategies to support both slow and fast learners in the
classroom.
Through
an insightful power-point presentation, the IQAC team highlighted various
effective practices that can be implemented to cater to the diverse learning
needs of students.
Furthermore,
an innovative strategy implemented by the Department of Commerce to facilitate
fast learners was presented. The presentation aimed to institutionalize these
best practices and promote their implementation across different departments.
The
workshop was followed by an engaging open discussion session where faculty
members shared their perspectives and experiences on the topic. The exchange of
ideas and insights was a testimony to the enthusiastic participation of the
faculty members, with almost 100 percent attendance. Overall, the workshop was
a great success, with the IQAC team successfully achieving its goal of
providing a platform for faculty members to learn from each other and
collectively improve the learning outcomes for their students.


6. A session on 'Personal Financial Management' for the
members of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college.
A
session on 'Personal Financial Management' was organized on the 26th September
2023 for the members of the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college. The
event was a collaborative effort of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell and IT
Cell of the college in association with NSDL (Investor Education). The session
commenced with a warm welcome by Prof. Simran Kaur, the Coordinator of IQAC,
who introduced the esteemed resource person, Dr. Raman Ballabh (Resource person
CDSL, IPF, Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs, ICAI, National Institute of
Securities Market (NISM), Tata Institute of Social Sciences). Dr. Raman Ballabh
shared valuable insights regarding financial goals in life, asset allocation,
various investment avenues, prerequisites for investing in securities markets,
risk awareness and income tax management during the session. The participants actively
engaged, posing queries, all of which were thoughtfully addressed by Dr.
Ballabh. The session proved to be highly informative and enriching for all
participants. Towards the end, Prof. Abhishek Vishwakarma, the Coordinator of
the IT Cell, extended gratitude to Dr. Ballabh and all the participants.




7.
On
October 12, 2023, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell organized an insightful
session titled 'Atmanirbhar Bharat: The Road Ahead.'
The distinguished
resource person for this session was Prof. (Dr.) Savita Sengar,
Vice Chancellor of Jharkhand Rai University. The event commenced with a
symbolic Garlanding of Guruji's portrait and the lighting of the lamp.
Following the opening ceremony, a concise presentation about the college and
its ongoing initiatives was delivered by the Principal, Dr. Shyam Pandey. Sri
Avijit Ghosh, Secretary of the Governing Body, introduced Dr. Savita Sengar to the audience, emphasizing that 'Atmanirbhar' has become a significant buzzword and invited
her to share more insights on the topic. Dr. Savita stressed the importance of
fostering job creators rather than job seekers. She discussed various models
and strategies, including community engagement and skill development, to
empower youth towards self-reliance. She emphasized the need to instill confidence and equip students, showcasing success
stories of students nurtured into entrepreneurs through guidance and support
during their academic journey. Furthermore, Dr. Savita highlighted the
significance of preserving and promoting art and culture as a means to drive
entrepreneurship. In her address, she admired the college's holistic education
approach and emphasized the significance of Panchkosh
and how the National Education Policy 2020 aligns with this approach. She also
commended the college's unique feature—a dedicated Yoga and Meditation Center—which distinguishes it from other educational
institutions. The program concluded with a vote of thanks presented by Prof.
Simran Kaur, the coordinator of IQAC. Dr. Abhishek Pandey served as the Master
of Ceremony for this session, which saw active participation from 50
participants.



7. A talk on 'Bringing out the best from within us and from others' on 13th
March 2023.
On
13th March 2023, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organized a talk on
the theme 'Bringing out the best from within us and from others' as part of the
Gyanodaya Lecture Series. The event commenced with the invocation seeking the
blessings of Guruji.
In
the beginning, Prof. Simran Kaur, Coordinator of the Internal Quality Assurance
Cell (IQAC), provided an introduction to the Gyanodaya initiative. Amidst the
gathering, she also read verses from the inspiring poem 'The Noble New,'
authored by Gurudev Sri Sri Paramahansa
Yogananda.
Welcoming
the esteemed gathering, Secretary of the Governing Body, Sri Avijit Ghosh,
articulated the essence of the occasion. He emphasized the inherent potential
within each individual, likening it to seeds waiting to be nurtured.
Additionally, he read out from the spiritual diary, enriching the ambiance with
profound thoughts.
Lt.
General Gyan Bhushan, Vice-Chairman, G.B. then took the stage to introduce the
revered Swami Suddhananda Giri ji to the audience. In
his address, he also underscored the pivotal roles played by all stakeholders
within educational institutions - students, teachers, and non-teaching staff.
He emphasized the significance of the session, highlighting the interconnectedness
of these roles. Particularly, he accentuated the profound influence teachers
wield in shaping future generations.
Swami
Suddhananda Giri ji, senior monk of YSS, drawing from
the teachings of YSS, emphasized the immense potential lying dormant within
each individual and highlighted ways to unleash this potential while addressing
obstacles that hinder personal progress.
Central
to his talk was the dissemination of scientific techniques for attaining direct
personal experience of the divine, serving as a cornerstone for unlocking inner
potential. He underscored the importance of connecting with the divine, drawing
from sacred texts such as the Bhagavad Gita, the Bible, and the Quran to
illustrate this point.
Key
methods for unleashing potential were outlined, with meditation presented as a
fundamental necessity, advocating both scientific and devotional forms.
Emphasis was placed on approaching tasks with enthusiasm and finding joy in
every moment, alongside maintaining a positive attitude towards life’s
experiences. Swami ji also encouraged viewing failures and setbacks as
opportunities for growth, advocating for a win-win mentality in all
interactions, and highlighting the importance of humility, gratitude, time
management, balanced living, and morality. He showcased a video clip of the
father-son duo that acknowledged the significance of appreciation. Exploring
obstacles that hinder personal progress, Swami ji identified laziness, lack of
concentration, diversions, indiscipline, purposelessness, gossip,
judgmentalism, immoderation, neglect of physical health, and rigidity as key
factors. Laziness, both mental and physical inertia, was highlighted as a
significant hindrance, alongside distractions such as amusements and failure to
govern body and mind wisely. He emphasized the importance of addressing these
obstacles to facilitate personal growth and fulfillment.
Towards
the end of the session, the Principal, Dr. Shyam Pandey proposed the vote of
thanks. The session was attended by Mr. Arvind Katiyar, the Director of
Intermediate Section; Ms. Ratanmala, Secretary of
YSMV & YSKV; Mr. Kumar Harsh, Assistant Secretary of YSEI schools; Mr.
Krishna Shukla, Headmaster of YSV; along with teaching staff(Intermediate,
Degree and CVS) and non-teaching staff members of Yogoda Satsanga
Mahavidyalaya. Additionally, the session was live-streamed for the students'.

International
Mother Earth Day, 2022 was celebrated on 22nd April 2022 in the
campus to educate young minds about various climate issues and also create
awareness about the dire need to protect our environment.
Students
of Zoology department artistically made posters and slogans based on the theme ‘Invest
in our Planet’. The poster exhibition highlighted pertinent issues like water
scarcity, climate change, plastic waste, threats to biodiversity, crippling
impact of fashion industry, petroleum on the environment. As a part of the
celebration,15 medicinal plants were also planted in the botanical garden of
the Mahavidyalaya. Students across departments enthusiastically participated in
the celebration.

Skill development of the youth is essential. Aligning with this
priority, second time in a row, the IQAC of the Mahavidyalaya organized a
40-hours skill training programme for the final year students of the
Mahavidyalaya from 4th Jan- 14th Jan, 2023.
For
the aforesaid, Mahindra and Mahindra group as a part of their CSR initiative
titled Mahindra Pride Classroom(MPC), (implemented by Naandi
Foundation) conducted a 40-hours training programme in the Mahavidyalaya which
commenced on 4th January 2023.
Mahindra
Pride Classroom(MPC), which essentially caters to skill training, covered a
diverse aspects ranging from Life skills, Soft skills, Communication Skills,
Presentation skills to Interview skills. The programme aimed at imparting
skills to the students which are critical to boost their employability. The 10
day /40 hours programme concluded on January 14, 2023.
The
session witnessed participation from a total of 69 students. The students who
attended the training program were mostly girls students nominated by the
different academic departments. The program was coordinated by Dr. Mallika
Kumari and Dr. Loveneesh Goutam.

40 hours certificate course capacity building program titled
"English at Work" from 17th Jan 2023 till 27th Jan 2023.
Successful
communication is the key to increased sustainability and career progression in
the workplace. In an attempt to facilitate the girls' students of our college
to acquire the requisite skills, a 40 hours capacity building program titled
"English at Work" was organized by the Internal Quality Assurance
Cell (IQAC) of the Mahavidyalaya in collaboration with the Mahindra and
Mahindra group, who as a part of their CSR initiative titled Mahindra Pride
Classroom(MPC), (implemented by Naandi Foundation) conducted
a 10 day/40hours training programme in our campus. The training sessions
commenced on 17th January 2023.
The
trainer, Mr. Pranay Kumar, essentially catered to imparting knowledge to the
students about the types of communication, ways and means of sharing ideas in a
group and facing an appraisal, email and resume writing etiquette, fundamental
rules of speaking and the like. The programme aimed at imparting the skills set
required to ultimately climb the corporate ladder. The training programme
concluded on January 27, 2023.The session witnessed participation from a total
of 20 girls students. The entire program was coordinated by Dr. Mallika Kumari.


4. The IQAC and the NSS
Unit II of the college jointly organised a session on "Career
Opportunities in Armed Forces" for the students on February 23, 2023.
It was indeed a matter of great pride for the college to have
Distinguished Alumni, Mr. Ajit Kumar, DSP , Rapid Action Force as a resource
person for the session. Mr. Kumar was pleased to interact with the students.
During the session, he apprised them of the duties and responsibilities of the
Rapid Action Force, ways and means to get into this career. He along with his
team also displayed the arms and measures resorted to, to control the spread of
violence. In continuum with that he also gave them a valuable message to become
responsible citizens of the nation. Towards the end of the session, he was
reminiscing his college days and shared about his journey with the students.
The students actively participated throughout the session and also got their
queries pertaining to the services resolved.
On the occasion, Principal Dr. Shyam Pandey, NSS PO Dr. RS Dey,
IQAC Co-Coordinator Prof Simran Kaur along with faculty members Dr. Neha Murai,
Dr. Mallika Kumari, Dr. Shweta Singh and Dr. Abha
Kumari were present.

The IQAC collaborated with Urban Kheti
to organize a 7-day (30 hours) Certificate Course in Solid Waste Management, from
May 4th to May 11th 2023
This
course aimed to promote sustainable development and environmental
consciousness, aligning with the objectives of the National Education Policy
(NEP). A total of 16 students registered for the course eager to explore the
intricacies of solid waste management. During the course, students were
introduced to the current waste management scenario in Ranchi, which included
landfills. They also examined insightful case studies that highlighted the
challenges faced in waste management and potential solutions. The course
extensively covered key components of solid waste management. Students gained
knowledge about the various stages involved, including waste collection,
transportation, treatment, and disposal. Emphasis was placed on the importance
of waste segregation at the source, as well as the significance of recycling
and composting to minimize environmental impact. Additionally, the course
focused on waste processing techniques and technologies. Students learned about
methods such as incineration, landfill gas recovery, and anaerobic digestion.
Through this, they gained insights into the benefits and drawbacks of each
approach, enabling them to develop a comprehensive understanding of waste
processing alternatives. Dr. Sumit Pathak, Assistant Professor in the
Department of Botany, took charge of coordinating the entire certification
course ensuring a holistic understanding of solid waste management for all the
participants.

The event titled 'From Waste to Resource: Promoting
Sustainability through Campus Composting' was organized by the IQAC of the
college in collaboration with the Institute of Forest Productivity(IFP) Ranchi,

The
event aimed to address environmental challenges, promote sustainability, and
educate the campus community about the benefits of composting.
The
event began with a moment of invocation, seeking the guidance and blessings of
Guruji.
Prof
Simran Kaur, Co-Coordinator, IQAC delivered the welcome address and highlighted
the key objectives of the event.
Ms.
Anjana Tirkey, IFS, from the Institute of Forest Productivity, Ranchi delivered
an enlightening and engaging speech on the importance of Mission Life and its
role in environmental protection. She highlighted 75 small behavioural changes
that can bring about monumental changes to the environment. Post her address, the students
also took a pledge to demonstrate environmentally conscious behaviour.
Mr.
Prakash Kumar from Urban Kheti commended the college
for its serene and environmentally conscious ambiance. In his address, he also
appreciated the dedicated team of garden maintenance at the college Mr. Kumar
emphasized the importance of sustainable practices, particularly composting, in
preserving and restoring ecosystems. He also highlighted how composting can
also serve as an income generation activity.
The
event's uniqueness lay in its hands-on approach, providing participants with
practical experience and education about sustainability. Mr. Harendra Kumar
from Team Green and Mr. Prakash Kumar guided the students on waste segregation
and demonstrated compost bed preparation and key aspects related to converting Jagarnath Mandir's puja waste & leaf litters of our
campus into compost. This practical session was especially valuable for the
students who have opted organic farming in the new curriculum, as it provided
them with the much needed insights and exposure. The queries raised by the
students were addressed by them.
The
Principal, Dr. Shyam Pandey, also joined the students at the composting site.
His presence motivated the students. Dr. Pandey expressed that composting
should not be seen as a one-time activity but rather as a sustainable model for
the institution.
Towards
the end of the event, the bamboo saplings gifted by IFP, Ranchi was planted by
the organizing team in the campus. Dr. Sumit Pathak, Assistant Professor,
Department of Botany, proposed the vote of thanks.

I.Q.A.C.
and Hindi Department successfully organized a two-day workshop titled 'अभिनय कार्यशाला' on May 26-27, 2023.
This
workshop aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the
art of acting and was led by the esteemed theatre artist, Mr. Jitendra Vadher.
The
workshop was divided into four sessions, held over two days, allowing for
in-depth exploration and practical learning opportunities. The workshop
commenced with the innovation of blessings of Shri Shri
Paramahansa Yogananda,
setting a spiritually uplifting tone for the event. The inaugural session on
the first day began with an enlightening address by Mr. Avijit Ghosh, the
Secretary of the Governing Body. He emphasized that every individual engages in
acting on the stage of life, with God Himself serving as the director of our
performances. He further emphasized the importance of living in the present
moment, embracing the essence of mindfulness.
Dr.
Shyam Pandey, Principal shed light on the profound significance of drama and
the stage. He discussed how the stage becomes a platform for creative
expression, self-discovery, and emotional exploration. He also highlighted that
in the context of Sahitya (literature), the concept of "Rasa" holds
great significance. There are nine types of Rasa, each representing a distinct
emotional experience or sentiment. These nine Rasas form the foundation of
Indian aesthetics and are considered crucial for the creation and appreciation
of literary works, theatrical performances, and other art forms. He appreciated
tireless efforts of Prof. P K Jha (HOD-Hindi Department), Prof. (Mrs) Simran
Kaur, Prof. Abhishek Pandey and Team IQAC for organizing 'अभिनय कार्यशाला'. Dr. Pradeep
Kumar Jha, the Head of the Hindi Department, eloquently shared his insights on
the origin of drama and its deep-rooted connection with the stage, highlighting
its cultural and artistic significance. Dr. D. Jha Sudhir, the Head of the
Sanskrit Department, acquainted the attendees with the profound concepts
mentioned in Bharat Muni's Natya Shastra, providing a
historical and theoretical perspective on the art of acting.
Dr.
R. S. Dey, the Head of the English Department, underscored the relevance and
impact of the stage by referencing various notable English plays, emphasizing
its universal appeal.
Ravi
Kumar, a distinguished alumnus of the college, was invited as a special guest
to the two-day workshop. During his time as a student, Ravi Kumar actively
participated in drama events and brought numerous accolades to the college. His
talent and dedication continue to bring great honor
to the institution as he pursues a successful career in acting, with an
impressive portfolio of film projects and commercials.
Ravi
Kumar had the privilege of sharing his valuable experience and journey with the
students during the workshop. His presence served as a testament to the
college's commitment to alumni engagement and the nurturing of talent.
Throughout
the engaging sessions on both the first and second days, the students were
introduced to the intricate nuances of stagecraft and acting. They actively
participated in a series of exercises designed to enhance their understanding
of characterization, body language, voice modulation, and improvisation.
Additionally, on the second day, a stimulating question-and-answer session was
conducted, allowing the students to seek clarifications and delve deeper into
the intricacies of the stage and the art of acting.
The
workshop received an overwhelming response, with a total of 83 students from
various departments attending and actively participating in the enriching
sessions.
The
event served as a platform for creative exploration and personal growth of the
students. It further exemplified the institution's commitment to holistic
education and nurturing talent in various artistic disciplines.

On 15th September 2023, the Department of BBA along with IQAC
organized a seminar for the students of BBA, BCA, and BSc IT on entrepreneurship
and how problems can be transformed into opportunities for an entrepreneur.
The
speaker for the event was Dr. Raju Varghese, the Director of IQAC & Global
Programs at Lexicon Management Institute of Leadership & Excellence. The
seminar aimed to shed light on the concept of entrepreneurship and how problems
can be transformed into opportunities for an entrepreneur. Dr. Raju Varghese
began the seminar by emphasizing the importance of entrepreneurship in today's
dynamic world. He delved into the intricacies of entrepreneurship and
highlighted how challenges and problems can serve as stepping stones for
entrepreneurial success. Dr. Varghese backed his insights with various
practical examples to enhance the understanding of the students. The session
was engaging and interactive, encouraging active participation from the
students. Dr. Varghese elucidated the topic by employing a blend of informative
presentation slides and real-life case studies.
During
the seminar, Dr. Varghese presented different practical examples to illustrate
how obstacles and problems can be transformed into entrepreneurial
opportunities. The examples were carefully selected to showcase the diverse
spectrum of challenges that entrepreneurs face and how they leveraged them to
create successful ventures.
The
seminar concluded with an insightful question-and-answer session where students
eagerly participated, seeking clarifications and sharing their viewpoints. Dr.
Varghese effectively addressed all the queries and concerns, providing valuable
insights and guidance to the aspiring entrepreneurs. The session was attended
by 85 students.

The college celebrated World Diabetes Day on November 8, 2023,
with a focus on yoga as a means to combat diabetes. The event was graced by Dr.
Parinita, Faculty of the School of Yoga, who served as the resource person.
Additionally, the college's esteemed alumnus, Mr. Ravi Kumar, accompanied her
and demonstrated the yoga asanas related to diabetes prevention and management.
The
session began with Mr. Rajesh, the Yoga instructor, YSM, providing a brief
introduction. Following this, dignitaries garlanded Gurujis' portrait and
lighted the ceremonial lamp.
Dr. P
K Jha extended a warm welcome to Dr. Parinita with a bouquet.
Mr.
Avijit Ghosh, the Secretary of the Governing Body, delivered the welcome
address. He emphasized that yoga is both science and art, highlighting
lifestyle, food habits, and stress as contributing factors to diabetes. He
invited the resource person to share her expertise on the subject. Dr. Parinita
took the stage to lead the discussion. During her presentation, she discussed
in details the types, causes, symptoms of diabetes and ways to effectively deal
with diabetes through yoga asanas. Her comprehensive talk provided valuable
insights into managing this health condition. The highlight of the event was
witnessing Mr. Ravi Kumar, an esteemed alumnus, demonstrate yoga asanas for
diabetes management.
After
the enlightening presentation, Dr. D. Jha Sudhir, the professor in charge DLS,
proposed the vote of thanks.
At
the conclusion of the session, as a token of gratitude, "Man's Eternal
Quest", a book by Gurudev Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, was
presented to the resource person by Prof. (Mrs) Simran Kaur, Coordinator IQAC. The
session witnessed the participation of 70 individuals, including college
faculty, staff and students.




11. World Environment Day, 4th-5th
June, 2024 at Ranchi University
The
NSS and IQAC of Ranchi University jointly organized the World Environment Day
celebration, adhering to this year's UN theme: "Land Restoration, Halting
Desertification, and Drought Resilience." The event included various
competitions such as poster making, essay writing, and speech delivery.
Five
NSS volunteers from NSS Unit 1 of YSM participated in these competitions and
were recognized for their active participation. The competitions were held on
June 4th, and the prize distribution ceremony, coupled with a seminar, took
place on June 5th, 2024.
Dr.
Mallika Kumari, the NSS Unit I Programme Officer, accompanied the volunteers to
Ranchi University for this event.

Understanding
environmental sensitivity is crucial for effective environmental management,
conservation efforts, and sustainable development. The college extends its
commitment to environmental sustainability beyond its premises. Collaborating
with NCC and NSS Unit of the college, IQAC organises plantation drives,
cleanliness drive in the surrounding areas. These initiatives not only
contribute to creating a cleaner environment but also serve as educational
opportunities to raise awareness and inspire individuals to adopt sustainable
practices.
